Terms & Conditions

Version 1.0 · Effective June 2026

These terms set out the agreement between Econoweb (operated by Steve Cowie, referred to as "we", "us", or "Econoweb") and the Client (referred to as "you" or "the client"). By proceeding with any paid work, both parties agree to these terms.
01

Services

Econoweb provides website design, build, hosting, domain registration, business email setup, and ongoing maintenance services for small businesses.

The specific work to be carried out will be agreed between both parties before any payment is taken. Any significant changes to the agreed scope of work may result in additional charges, which will always be discussed and agreed in advance.

02

Setup Fee & Payment

A one-off setup fee of £150 is charged to cover the design, build, domain registration, hosting configuration, and business email setup.

Refunds: If you change your mind before work has started, a full refund will be issued. Once work has begun, refunds are at our discretion based on the amount of work completed.
03

Monthly Retainer

Following launch, a monthly retainer of £15/month (or £150/year if paid annually) covers:

The retainer is billed monthly by bank transfer or standing order, due on the same date each month.

Domain renewals: Domain registration fees are included in the retainer. Once a domain has been renewed for a new year, that renewal fee (£12) is non-refundable, even if the retainer is subsequently cancelled.
04

Cancellation

Either party may cancel the monthly retainer with 30 days written notice (email is fine). There are no long-term contracts or early exit penalties.

05

Domain Ownership

All domains registered on behalf of the client are the property of the client. Econoweb manages the domain on your behalf as part of the retainer.

If you cancel your retainer and wish to take full control of your domain, we will transfer it to an account of your choice within 14 days of your final payment clearing, at no additional charge.

06

Website Ownership & Content

Once the setup fee has been paid in full, the website design and all content belongs to you. You are free to take your website elsewhere at any time.

07

What We Need From You

To build your website we will need:

Delays in providing content or approvals may push back your launch date. Econoweb is not responsible for delays caused by the client.

08

Timescales

We aim to have your website live within 7–10 working days of receiving all required content and the setup fee payment. This is a guide only — more complex projects may take longer and will be discussed upfront.

09

Ongoing Updates

The monthly retainer includes reasonable minor updates — changing text, updating prices, swapping images, adding a new service, or updating contact details.

Work that falls outside this scope (additional pages, new sections, significant redesigns) will be quoted separately at a fair rate agreed in advance.

10

Liability

Econoweb will always aim to keep your website live and your email running. However, we cannot guarantee 100% uptime and accept no liability for losses arising from:

Our total liability to you will not exceed the total fees paid in the 3 months prior to any claim.

11

Late Payment

If the monthly retainer is not paid within 14 days of the due date, we reserve the right to suspend your website and email until payment is received. We will always contact you first to check there isn't a genuine issue.

If payment remains outstanding for more than 60 days, we reserve the right to terminate the agreement entirely.

12

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining terms will continue to apply.

13

Changes to These Terms

Econoweb reserves the right to update these terms at any time. You will be given at least 30 days notice of any material changes by email. Continued use of our services after that period constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
